About us
Svensk Kolinlagring is an expert-driven initiative to transform Swedish agriculture. We are an independent, non-profit organisation that brings together companies and farmers who want to make a real difference for the climate.
Today’s sustainability challenges require multifunctional solutions, which is why we have developed a nature-based solution for climate transition, food security and biodiversity.
Our farmers receive support and compensation for their work to develop farming systems that improve soil health and carbon storage in the soil. It’s about cultivating the soil, not just the crops.
Our investors are offered climate investments that create the conditions for the agriculture, society and business of the future. Current degradation of our natural systems is a societal problem that affects all actors in the value chain.
To speed up the transformation, we also work with training and collaborate with research projects. We develop new knowledge, put knowledge into practice, create meeting places for knowledge exchange and give lectures on soil health and the transition to carbon sequestering agriculture.
Today, the work is being carried out in collaboration between the project owner MiljöMatematik Malmö AB and Albaeco, as well as all participating farmers, investors, researchers and other partners. Together, we are ensuring that agricultural soil becomes a carbon sink full of life.

Our mission - carbon as a lever
There is too much carbon in the air and too little carbon in the soils. The IPCC’s future scenarios, in which we succeed in counteracting climate change, include a transition of agriculture from a carbon source to a carbon sink. If we are to stay below the 1.5-degree limit, a long-term transition to agroecological, carbon-storing and regenerative farming methods is required – a food system within the planet’s limits.
Svensk Kolinlagring is transforming the food system towards agroecological agriculture. We are a living lab and, through economic incentives, knowledge sharing, collaboration and research, we are working towards a carbon sequestering agriculture with added value.
